Myspace vs Facebook - 08

Now I'm sure everyone is aware about what these two social networking sites are, but here's the age old question: Which one is better? Well in my opinion Myspace is all about customization, whether it is the song you choose, your layout, and even posts/blogs. Facebook in my opinion is all about keeping in touch, and it seems to be targeting a bit more mature audience. When these two sites came out, Myspace was the more popular one, but now it has shifted to facebook. You don't see a movie commercial now without seeing: "Also, like it on facebook!".. Or become a fan on facebook (two fantastic perks about facebook that myspace does not have, the like and fan options). Also there are many more celebrity pages on facebook as well as things that you can relate to. But myspace lets bands post songs on their page which I find very useful as well. In my opinion Facebook is the more desireable social network site, and if you haven't tried it yet, go ahead and give it a go.

Brighthouse Cable vs. Dish Network - 07

I had Bright House for about a year and just recently switched to Dish Network and I thought a great review would be both of these T.V. companies. First off i would liked to say I haven't had Dish Network for too long, so I might not be getting everything correct in this review.
Category one will be user interface: I found that Bright House's user interface was explained well when I bought the product and easy to use afterwords. When I bought Dish Network I was only handed the instructions (after a quick remote explanation by the installer), and the interface is really confusing in my opinion.
Second category is standard (not premium package), HD channels: Bright House's standard HD channels were very limited as I only found a few. Dish Network on the other hand has hundreds of standard HD channels and even for most channels a standard and an HD channel.
Third Category will be specifically DVR: Bright House's DVR comes with the ability of being able to record two shows at once and still being able to watch T.V. Dish Network's DVR you need two DVR's hooked up to two TV's to be able to record two shows at the same time. Also, you cannot watch live T.V on the tv recording a show.
Fourth Category will be picture and sound quality: When watching both Bright House and Dish Network I did not really see a difference between the two, and even when it rained really hard I was still receiving perfect picture and sound, so this category is a tie.
Fifth and category will be movies on demand: Bright House's movie on demand was definitely my favorite out of the two, you were able to choose any movie they offered at any time for about $3.99 for standard and $4.99 for HD. On the other hand Dish Network either requires you to have your box plugged into the wall to order movies off of the box or order from online or phone call if you are not plugged in.. Also Dish Network's movies are a dollar more for standard and a dollar more for HD. (correct me if I am wrong).
Sixth and last category is pricing: I have to give this category to Dish Network because with Bright House I was spending close to $80 a month (with movies and sports package), but with Dish Network I am only spending $55-$65 (also including sports and movies).
So overall I have to give this T.V. battle to Bright House with a close score of 4 (Bright House) to 3 (Dish Network). But don't just take my word for these T.V. companies and check them out yourself if you are looking to buy a new one or looking to switch.

Scion tC - 06

I recently sold my 2005 Scion tC, and if any of you are looking to buy one I say go for it. I only sold it because it was an automatic car and I am looking to drive a manual but I have to say, besides everyone saying it is mostly a girl car, it was a blast to drive. Even though it was an automatic it was really fast and everyone like the way it looked including me. It did have its fair share of problems, (the cheap plastic pop on and pop off interior mostly bugged me) but it handled well and was very stylish. Scions are the most customizable cars on the market, (I guess that's the reason for the pop off interior), and can be made to look incredible. out of a 5 I would give this car a 4, and my stamped approval to go out and buy one. Have fun!

Kick Ass - 05

I recently saw the 2010 movie Kick Ass in theaters and I have to say I was impressed. I don't want to spoil anything but if you want a simple plot play by play here it is: It is basically about a teenage kid who wonders why no one attempts to be a superhero in real life so he tries it, calling himself Kick Ass. He is overshadowed by a father/daughter team that are trying to take down a crime syndicate and use Kick Ass as their cover. I really enjoyed this movie although there were a few parts that were rather bloody and gory. There was a little bit of sexual content and a lot of violence so I wouldn't recommend it to kids (as it is rated - R ). But other than that i recommend this movie to everyone.

Iron Man 2 - 04

I have to say, Iron Man 2 was not what I expected. When I first saw the movie I thought to my self, "Oh great another sequel that is going to ruin the great first movie." But that is not what happened at all. I was very happy at the way Iron Man 2 turned out and it was such a fun movie. I don't want to give anything away if you haven't seen it yet, between the suspense, betrayal, and the HOT Scarlett Johansson, it was a fantastic movie which I recommend to everyone.

african safaris - 03

During the summer of 05 I went on a trip to Africa but more specifically Kenya and Tanzania. I really enjoyed the trip because it was such a new experience for me. I had never been in barren lands and never experienced wild animals of this sortm

We first visited Nirobi, Kenya which is an old British out post from the 1700's which is now a sprawling city. We visited a museam dedicated to the author of the book "out of africa". It is a beautiful little house that she lived in overlooking a coffee plantation and lush green rolling hills. Then we went to an orphanage for giraffes where we hand fed giraffes bannanas. The kids really enjoyed this part of the trip because they had never been so close to giraffes.

Then we drove north for 3 hours to a town called Nanyuki which is on the equator, which we stopped for pictures and then continued on a two hour drive to the Samburu National Park which we took our first two hour safari. We saw all kinds of animals including a cheetah chasing a gazelle. That is something you onlu see in movies and we witnessed it first hand. In evenings we are sitting on the edge of the Serena Lodge watching the leopard come to a set out feed across the river which the lodge employees did for the guests. While waiting for the leopard to come we witnessed a crocodile feast on a wild cat that had come to feast on the chicken bits an employee left for the crocm

Our next stop was Mount Kenya Safari Club which we swam at because we had a nice afternoon off. And then we flew the Massai Mara National Park where we did more safaris and we stayed at the govenors tented camp. These tents we just made out of tent fabric on the outside but on the inside was a luxurious room with marble bathrooms and things like that.

We did some more safaris and saw a lion feast on a wildabeast before we had to say goodbye to one of the most fantastics trips I had the pleasure of going on. This is another place I would recommend to others and I had nothing but fun on it.

"Robin Hood" Movie - 02

I had the pleasure the watch the new "Robin Hood" Movie last night and after being pressure into seeing it, I have to say it did not live up to the expectations that everyone made it out to be. I don't want to be misleading, because it was very well made but if you are not into old fashioned war movies and a lot of action this is not the movie for you. I did like how they made the movie almost similar to the
to the tale of robin hood. When you hear the title I am sure that you think of the children's story of robin hood but I assure you this is no children's movie. This is a movie I would recommend to others if you are into the whole war and action genre. But if you are not then stay away from it.

Australia and New Zealand Trip - 01

During the summer of '07 I had the pleasure to take a trip to New Zealand and Australia, which I have to say, out of all the places I have been (and there is alot) it is one of my favorite trips. In New Zealand I visited sheep farms, the beautiful mountain sides, and which some people don't know; the sites of which the movie "The Lord of the Rings" was filmed. It was a fantastic trip and I loved the snowy landscapes.

From there I went to Australia, the first place being Cairn, which is a beach resort on the great barrier reef. Our travel sevice chartered us a boat with a guide so we could go deep sea fishing, because of the high seas we only caught one fish (it was a preety good sized fish) and the people who owned the boat gutted it and said they were using it as marlin bait. All I was thinking to my self was wow they are usong that huge fish as bait? - want to get in on the marlin fishing. We stayed at a hotel which was a cluster of personal bungalows that were so nice to stay at. It was cold because it is a different season on that side of the world. We visited many cultural sites and the marketplace a few streets down.

From Cairs we went to Ayers Rock which is an aboriginal site in the desert which is under the beautiful night sky. We ate authentic Australian food and drank their champagne. The organizers also brought in a astrologist to show the different constellations under their unlighted sky. It was a beautiful sight to see.

We also visited a place called agrodome which is a place for the kids to do extreme sports. There was bungee jumping (which I had the pleasure of going on), go-karts, indoor sky diving, zorbs (a plastic ball you go in to go down the side of a hill), and many more things. It was quite an experience.

We visited the famous Sydney, Australia which was fun even though it was in the city. We walked on top of the sky tower, which we had to get suited up to go up there because of the high winds, we visited the famous Sydney Oprah House, and we looked at the sites of the city.

Overall the Australia/New Zealand trip was one of my favorites (up there with the safari's of Africa) and I recommend it to all of you. If you are interested in going, I want to recommend a travel service which designed my trip and made it the experience it was. You can visit their website at, www.culturalvacations.com. They specialize in the foreign and cultural trips of the world and you have to check them out.
